ECCOMAS award for the best 2015 Ph.D theses on computational methods in applied sciences and engineering

ECCOMAS every year selects the two best Ph.D. Theses in the field of Computational Methods in Applied Sciences and Engineering.

For the two Ph.D. Awards, every member association proposes one candidate and the ECCOMAS PhD Awards Committee selects two awardees. The presentation of the awards, which are accompanied with a prize of 2000 Euros and the reimbursement of the travelling costs to the presentation of the awards, takes place annually at an appropriate thematic event.

The 2015 two winners are:

  • Dr. Ursula Rasthofer (Germany) for the thesis "Computational Multiscale Methods for Turbulent Single and Two-Phase Flows "
  • Dr. Federico Negri (Switzerland) for the thesis "Efficient Reduction Techniques for the Simulation and Optimization of Parametrized Systems: Analysis and Applications "
